Use of single or multiple layers of fabric in the garment construction

Still air is a barrier to transfer heat from human body to environment. Multilayer fabric in the clothing provides more still air layer, hence comfortable in cold weather. Single layer fabric in a clothing facilitates easy transfer of body heat , hence comfortable in hot weather.
