Fabric produced from hydrophilic fibres absorbs water, moisture & sweat quickly, keeping the skin dry, hence comfortable in sportswear. Thick fabric feels warm and fine fabrics feels cool due to their thermal insulation property. Thick fabric contains more pores , hence more entrapped still air , hence higher thermal resistance and comfortable in cold weather. Moisture permeability is a key parameter affecting the comfort. Fabric with higher wicking and water absorbency property is comfortable in hot weather use.
